uma thurman -kill bill
Uma Thurman as The Bride in Miramax's Kill Bill Vol. 2 -Though Uma Thurman was once one of Hollywood's social scene regulars, her marriage to fellow actor Ethan Hawke and the birth of her two children mellowed out the Greta Garbo lookalike, and gave her a newfound perspective on what is important in life.

Mummy Wrap
Uma Thurman is one of Hollywood's most sought after and enigmatic actresses. Doing any kind of role, be it a small art house movie, or a big blockbuster, she carries the work with her and performs with elan and aplomb. Just when you think that she seems to be everywhere, she disappears into obscurity. This beautiful and talented actress has always kept her fans (and her producers) wondering which direction she will go in her next film: incest, glamour, murder, deceit or pure evil -- Uma Thurman can do it all.

Shy No More
After her many forays with different directors, her marriage and jetsetting, Uma next re-united with Tarantino to star as the retired assassin The Bride in her most high profile role to date in Kill Bill. Far too long but apparently impossible to cut, the film would be released in two parts (Vol. 1 and Vol. 2). Thurman became the most visible actress of 2003 and 2004, earning two Golden Globe nominations and a whole lot of hype. Sadly she was robbed from an Oscar nod but the film still holds one of her most impressive performances. Her work as the retired assassin seemed to fit like a glove. So impressive was her performance in all the stunts including killing Vernita Green, taking Kung Fu lessons or escaping from that buried coffin, she carried them all with elan of a master. Kill Bill has been released as the full version on DVD in late 2007.
Expect A Call
Uma on motherhood and traveling for her new long-distance romance:
“My house is always a disaster. I’m completely uncentered in my tastes. I can never finish anything…Before I had kids, I was even worse. I would constantly move. I’ve made huge strides for the sake of my dear children so they’re not subject to adolescent homelessness from me.”
On the future:
“I always thought things would slow down and I’d go back to school. I’d study history, language, culture, psychology. My curiosities are broad; that’s one of my best qualities, if I say so myself…It sounds like bragging.”
On her accomplishments:
“You know, I think actresses are imagined to be these subjects of great vanity…Life is change, physicality changes. It’s transient, and that’s a beautiful and a painful thing. When I look into the mirror, I think, What have I really done? Not much, if you really want to know. What do I need to do to do more?”
